Adding your first service

Create what customers book, with a price and a duration that suits it.

A service is anything a customer can book you for: a boiler service, an end-of-tenancy clean, a 60 minute massage, an hour on court 3, a Tuesday yoga class. Your services make up your catalogue, and they are what people choose from on your booking page.

You only need one to go live. Let us add it.

Open your services

Go to your services

Open Settings, then Services. This is your service catalogue and pricing in one place. If you have just started, it will be empty.

Add a service

Click Add service in the top bar to open the picker.

Pick from the catalogue

Choosing from the built-in catalogue keeps your listings tidy and recognisable to customers.

Say what kind of thing it is

The first question is what shape the service has, and it decides everything that follows:

  • We go to the customer, for work at their address.
  • They book a person, for appointments at your place.
  • They hire a space or item, for anything booked in blocks of time.
  • They join a class, for scheduled sessions with seats.

Choose what you do

Bookables comes with a large built-in catalogue of services, grouped into categories. Browse to the one that matches your work and pick the service that fits.

If your service is not in the list, give it your own name instead.

Set a price and a duration

For each service, set:

  • Price, using whichever pricing model suits the work. A flat price is the simplest and is right more often than people expect. See Duration and pricing.
  • Duration, roughly how long it takes.

Important: Duration is what makes a service bookable for a specific time slot. Once a service has a duration, Bookables can offer customers real available times around your other jobs, your staff and your travel. A quote-priced service deliberately has no duration: customers send you the details instead and you come back with a price.

Review your catalogue

Your services appear in the Services list. From there you can open any service to edit its details, change the price or duration, or remove it. Add as many as you like, but remember you only need one to start taking bookings.
