Recurring bookings

A lot of good work is the same work, over and over: the fortnightly lawn, the monthly clean, the quarterly service. Recurring bookings mean you set the rhythm up once and stop re-entering it.

You set a repeat up while creating a booking. Tick This customer repeats on the service step, and the wizard asks how often.

Two kinds of repeat

Same time every visit. A fixed rhythm: every two weeks, on a Tuesday, at 9am. Bookables creates the future visits on the calendar ahead of time, so the customer's slot is genuinely held and everyone can see it coming.

No fixed time, just due again. A loose rhythm, for work that recurs but not to the clock. You get one visit now, and each time you finish a job the next one is added. This suits the customer who needs you roughly every six weeks, whenever it suits you both.

Setting the rhythm

• Every how many weeks or months.
• On which weekday, and at what time, for a fixed rhythm.
• Until you stop it yourself, until a date, or after a set number of visits.

Before you save, Bookables tells you what it is about to create: roughly how many bookings, over roughly how many weeks.

Keeping the run topped up

For fixed rhythms, Bookables keeps a rolling window of future visits on the calendar and tops it up automatically as time passes. You do not have to come back and extend anything. An arrangement set to run until you stop it will simply keep going.

Changing or stopping a repeat

Edit or cancel any visit in the usual way and you will be asked whether the change applies to only this booking or this booking and all future ones. Choosing all future ones moves or stops the rest of the run.

Turning it on

Recurring bookings are an addon, found under Settings, then Addons. It is on by default for mobile trades and appointment businesses, and it is included on every plan rather than being a paid extra.
