Add-ons and options
Extras customers can add at booking time, and the choices that change the price.
Most services have variations. The oven clean on top of the standard clean. The bigger trailer instead of the small one. Add-ons are how you offer those without maintaining a separate service for every combination.
They live on the service page, in the Add-ons section.
Groups and options
An add-on is a group with options inside it.
The group is the question: "Extras", "Trailer size", "Level". The options are the answers, and each one carries its own effect on the price and on how long the job takes.
So a cleaning service might have a group called Extras with options for oven, fridge and windows. A hire service might have a group called Size with small, medium and large.
What an option can change
Each option can adjust:
- The price, up or down.
- The time, so a booking that includes the oven clean takes the extra half hour it really takes and the schedule knows about it.
That second one is the part worth caring about. An add-on that changes the price but not the duration will quietly wreck your afternoon.
Fixed-price extras
Some services also offer fixed-price extras: flat-fee add-ons with no options underneath, for the simple case where you just want a tick box and a number.
How customers see them
Add-ons appear on your public booking page as part of choosing the service, and the running total updates as the customer picks.
The price is always recalculated on our side when the booking is made, so a customer cannot end up booking at a price you did not set.
